Take Her to the Moon For Me
February 7, 2023
I wanted to give her the moon.
The glowing yellow light
loomed large,
surrounded by an ethereal glow.
She looks at the moon,
like how I look at her.
Such beauty,
how it gleams,
while everything else is darkness.
Though I couldn’t give her the moon
she may fulfill her wish,
it may not be with me,
but it would be with you.
Take her to the moon for me.

This poem made me want to sit on my bright orange bean bag and sip hot chocolate from the depths of my kitchen. You absolutely shined light into my eyes. Beautiful and with grace. Thank you Kate Arancon.

I really liked the comparison you made about the bauty of the person to the moon. The poem leaves you thinking about how sometimes you wish the best to someone, but in order for them to have the best, some people have to walk out of their life and let new people in to leave a good mark on them. Really great poem!
